North Eastern electricity Supply Company of Orissa Ltd.( NESCO) deals with the supply and distribution of electricity in the north eastern region of Orissa including the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Bhadrak.

NESCO came into being in 1997 and since 1998 it has been in the business of providing electrical power to Orissa. As NESCO is an important division of the power sector, it has been tied up with the major player in Indian power sector, Reliance Energy Limited or REL.

It is Reliance Power that manages and runs NESCO for better functioning of the enterprise. 51% of NESCO's shares belong to Reliance which makes Reliance the major shareholder of NESCO.

The primary aim of North Eastern electricity Supply Company of Orissa Ltd. or NESCO is to provide electricity to the consumers, thus helping in the development of Orissa.
