Chhattisgarh Museums



Chhattisgarh is a state, which has acquired a heritage status for itself among the other states in India. A number of museums have been set up in the state of Chhattisgarh to protect and preserve every big and small item of the tribal society of Bastar as well as other things worth preserving in the state of Chhattisgarh. Chhattisgarh Museums play a crucial role in encouraging tourism in the state.

Among the many museums in Chhattisgarh that conserve the different traditional and historical objects that are related to the state, the important ones are:

Around Jagdalpur is the Anthropological Museum, which gives the tourists a clear idea about the tribal culture in the district of Bastar.

The Raipur Open-Air Museum covers an area of over two hundred acres. The museum is situated at the Abhanpur block in the district of Raipur.

Human Science Museum is located in Vijaya Bhavan and exhibits loads of items that are related to the tradition and culture of the state.

Mahant Ghasi Memorial Museum is another important museum among the Chhattisgarh Museums that is established by Raja Mahant Ghasidas in the year 1875.

Raipur Open-Air Museum is a famous and innovative museum in the state of Chhattisgarh. It covers a total area of about an area of over two hundred acres of land. The Raipur Open-Air Mu-seum of Chhattisgarh is situated in the district of Raipur at the Abhanpur block.
