Besan or chick peas flour is a very versatile ingredient extensively used in India, today I used it in a very different manner by adding it to the milk, I also sprinkled the almonds all over to give it a nice appeal. This Besan Milk With Almonds was well received for the breakfast by all members of family and the cold winter mornings had a very different beginning with a nice hot beverage. I would say it is a perfect recipe for foggy mornings, which are now common in most part of India, you could also serve it hot just before bed time for a nice deep sleep. You can make it quickly with boiling milk and serve it any time of the day. Let’s see a easy for recipe for Besan Milk With Almonds. Enjoy!

All you need is (serves 4)

Besan – 5 tsp

Milk – 1 lt

Sugar to taste

Elaichi powder – 1 tsp

Desi ghee – 2 tsp

Almonds – 16 to 20 (soak about 10-12 in water for 1 hour)

Saffron for garnishing

Besan Milk With Almonds Recipe

Preparation time: 5 min.

Cooking time: 15 min.

Peel the soaked almonds, add 1 tbsp milk and grind them to a paste.

Sliver rest of almonds. Keep aside.

In a pan heat the desi ghee and fry the besan for about 2-3 min. Keep aside.

Boil the milk, add fried besan, almond paste, elaichi powder and sugar and mix well.

Boil for 10 min with constant stirring.

Garnish with slivered almonds and saffron.

Serve hot.
