Haridwar to Anandmayi Ma Ashram

Born on the 30th of April in the year of 1896, Ma Anandmoyi exhibited spiritual bend of mind from her childhood days. After her marriage at the tender age of thirteen, her husband understood the divine spiritual nature of Ma Anandmoyi and helped her to realize the spiritual aim of her life through meditation and selfless service of mankind.

As a great spiritual leader of the modern era, Ma Anandmoyi had spread her message of love to the devotees. The divine soul encouraged her ardent devotees to constantly serve human beings without any anticipation of praise or material benefits from others. Representing the secular trend of our country, Ma Anandmoyi had deep faith in all streams of religious beliefs.

Ma Anandmoyi had left the mortal world on the 27th of August in the year of 1982 in the sacred place of Kankhal near Haridwar. The spiritual leader had visited the ashram of Swami Akhandananda Giri in Kankhal on several occasions and was very fond of the place. After the sad demise of Ma Anandmoyi, her ardent devotees had built a study and spiritual center in Kankhla to impart knowledge about the Vedic literature and the spiritual world.
