Recipe for Green and Black Chickpeas Salad Boat

Black chickpeas are pretty healthy and nutritious for everyone. It helps control the blood pressure and increases the production of red blood cells. The consumption of black chickpeas reduces the harmful inflammation in the body.

Almost everyone prefers to eat a salad with dinner and lunch. But the kids usually avoid eating salads. You can make the salad creatively, which will surely attract the kids.

So here’s a recipe for the green and black chickpeas salad boat:

Ingredients:

  • Two cucumbers
  • 1/4 cup overnight soaked black chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup boiled black chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup sliced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup cooked and sliced potatoes 
  • 1/4 cup sprouted green gram
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander
  • One spoon of coriander and mint sauce
  • One spoon of tamarind sauce
  • 1/2 spoon pomegranate 
  • One spoon of black salt
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 spoon black pepper
  • 1/2 spoon of Cumin powder
  • 1/2 spoon of Red chilli powder
  • One spoon of all spices mix powder (Chat masala)

Recipe:

1. Boil the black chickpeas in water and add two tablespoons of salt.

2. Take out a fresh cucumber from the fridge and make thin slices. 

3. Now, take another cucumber and cut the cucumber vertically into two with the help of a knife. Now remove the material from the inside. Give a boat shape to the cucumber.

4. Take a big bowl and add soaked and boiled black chickpeas, sprouted green gram, tomatoes, onions, boiled mashed potatoes and sliced cucumber.

5. Pour a spoon of tamarind sauce and green coriander sauce into the bowl.

6. Mix all the ingredients. Place a plate over the bowl and shake it for a while to mix the ingredients well.

7. Now add some lemon juice and again toss and mix. 

8. Fill the empty cucumber boat with the green salad and garnish a lot of boiled black chickpeas and some chopped coriander.

9. If you’re a cheese lover, you can garnish some cottage cheese over the salad.

10. Serve cold with dinner or lunch.

Pro tip: You can add the diced apple, pineapple, musk melon or grapes to the salad for a sweet and spicy flavour.
