While the real world is full of action and drama, Romantic Comedies or the Rom-Coms are high on demand amongst the audience, who is in a constant lookout for some entertainment. This week’s release Gori Tere Pyar Mein brings back some lightness in the air by conjuring up an easy and breezy love story peppered with an ounce of comedy. Director Punit Malhotra, whose last release I hate Luv Storys became a box-office hit, goes rural this time. Gori Tere Pyar Mein is the story of two totally different individuals who manage to bridge the ideological gap between them through love.

Plot: Sriram, a spoiled-careless South Indian Boy, falls in love with a social activist Dia, with high principles and values. The difference in ideologies results in clashes and separation. Can love conquer the differences between two different individuals? This is what forms the storyline of this romantic comedy.

Performances:  The role of a typical rich and easygoing boy seems to have been tailor made for Imran Khan. This is also what goes well with his image. Only if he was a little better in emoting, he could have been one of the super stars of bollywood.

Kareena Kapoor Khan looks as beautiful as she can in an Indian attire. There are no questions about her acting skills being one of the best.

The On-Screen chemistry between the two is indeed likeable. There is a sort of unspoken compatibility between them.

But there is one person who comes as a complete surprise this time. It is the sweet-little girl, Shraddha Kapoor. Her ability to emote with her eyes is really impressive. There seems to be a remarkable improvement in her acting as well.

Anupam Kher could have been an asset to the film had his character been built properly.

Music: Dharma Productions has a phenomenal track record when it comes to the music of the film. Therefore, the expectations this time were also high. The music of Gori Tere Pyar Mein is the creation of the much talented duo Vishal-Shekhar. The album has some entertaining numbers which have gone well with the audience. Songs like “Chingam Chabake” and “Tooh” are good to shake a leg at.

What’s good: The lightness of the film with a blend of romance and comedy is the best thing about the movie. The actors are good at their work and absolutely entertaining. The songs are appropriately placed and are good to the ears.

What’s bad: The two halves of the film do not seem to connect well with each other. The storyline is weak as well as the editing.

Punit Malhotra’s Gori Tere Pyar Mein is nothing exceptional but is definitely worth watching. Even with its flaws, the film is immensely entertaining. The film is like a light popcorn entertainer which can be easily be watched with the family. Watch Gori Tere Pyar Mein for a quick break from your usual routine!

VERDICT: Leave your brains at home and go watch Gori Tere Pyar Mein!
