Cuttputlli Movie Review: Love Songs Between Protagonists Try To Distract From The Serious Plot

Akshay Kumar has again come up with his new crime thriller. The movie is a remake of Tamil film “Ratsasan”, which was released in 2018.

 Cast

Akshay Kumar plays the lead role of Arjan Sethi, Sargun Mehta plays the role of SHO Gudiya Parmar, Rakul Preet Singh is the protagonist Divya, Gurpreet Ghuggi is the head constable as Mahender, Hrishitaa Bhatt has played the character of Seema Singh, and there are many other co-actors in the movie.

 Plot

The movie starts in the morning when two early walkers find the dead body of a teenage girl. She was murdered, captured, and packed in a bag. Her face had many scratches, and her eye was missing. She was Samiksha. The whole movie depicted similar cases and accidents.

Here comes the entry of the leading role, Akshay Kumar, as Arjan Sethi, who wanted to become a crime film-maker, but every time he failed, his sister and brother-in-law forced him to be a police officer. He sits in an exam, pass the exam and becomes an officer.

Payal, the niece of Arjan, gets an issue in school. Arjan tries to help, but at the same time, he meets her teacher, Divya. Arjan falls in love with Divya. As a police officer, Arjan tries to infer why Amrita got abducted. All the cases are similar in that a gift with a doll is found. The scratches on the face of the teenagers resemble the scratches on the face of the doll.

After Samiksha and Amrita, another piece of news was on fire that another girl, Komal, was killed. The last case was from divya’s school. The new officer, Arjan, arrived at the divya’s school and found that a maths teacher, Purushottam Tomar, had sexually assaulted the girls after the class. The evidence of Komal’s abduction was from the house of maths teacher Purushottam Tomar, and everyone thought that he was the serial killer.

Arjan interrogates Purushottam Tomar with other police officers. Suddenly, Purushotam Tomar stands up and tries to kill SHO Gudiya Parmar, and Arjan encounters him. Another day, another case. Again, a girl named Payal, who was at her birthday party, was found killed in the car trunk.

Arjan gets suspended for encountering the maths teacher, but he unofficially tries to solve the mystery. The killed girl, Komal, was half deaf. She had a hearing aid which could record the sounds. This helped Arjan to find the background music, which traces back to the magician. The magician performed at divya’s school.

The turning point in the movie was that the magician performed in all the schools where the girls were killed. Then, according to the research of Arjan, SHO Parmar re-appoints him to the duty. In the end, Arjan finds the serial killer, who was abducted, making scratches on their face and killing the girls.

The female protagonist gets abducted but gets saved by the police team. Finally, in the end, Arjan and his police team track the location of Agnes. The magician introduced himself as Christopher and reminded Arjan of his story about how some boys bullied her when he was in school. A girl named Sofia became his friend.

After some time, he confessed that he was in love with her, but she refused and humiliated him. One day, Christopher invited Sofia to his house and, with the help of her mother, Agnes, killed her. Later, her mother took all the blame and went to jail. Then she passed away. After her mother’s death, Christopher used to dress like her mother and started killing the girls whenever any girl reminded him of Sofia.

At the end of the story, Arjan fights with Christopher. With the help of divya’s niece, Iti, Arjan wins. He finds his love and the body of the magician.

 Movie Review

In Akshay Kumar’s new crime thriller movie, Cuttputlli, he plays a police officer. For those who have seen Sooryavanshi, Rowdy Rathore, Khiladi 786, Khaki, and Police Force, this movie will be just another movie for them. People can understand the fondness for Akshay Kumar and the role of the police. The audience can count on the remake and Akshay Kumar’s movie.

He, without any original story, comes up with his new charm. The people can narrate the plot before the actual scene arrives due to the remake ideas. Cuttputlli, Akshay’s third film in the third month, is a remake of the Tamil film Ratsasan.

This movie is about murders, issues, solutions, and characters, but without acting. The movie lacks acting. The movie’s plot is that Akshay, as Arjan was behind the serial killer who was abducting girls, making scratches, and killing them. Every time a murder occurred, a gift was left at the girls’ homes.

The serial killer has killed many girls. Earlier, the suspect was the maths teacher of divya’s school. The police officer, Arjan, tries to find the serial killer. Only the lead actor, Arjan, was the officer finding the clues and solving the cases. The rest of the senior officers had no role in the movie in solving the cases. The movie was more like an “Akshay Kumar-based movie.” It was only throwing lights on Akshay Kumar.

The movie is based on crime. The love songs between the protagonists try to distract from the grave plot. Other characters had tried to play their role but without dialogue. Sargun Mehta played SHO. She hardly spoke five lines in the movie.

In the end, the plot inclines towards the same general idea, where the female actress gets into a fix, and the male protagonist saves the life of the actress. The movie could have been better if other characters had been involved with strong dialogue.
