About Movie Great Grand Masti

As the third instalment of the sex comedy franchise named Masti, Great Grand Masti is yet another adult comedy movie that features three close friends: Riteish Deshmukh alias Amar Saxena, Vivek Oberoi alias Meet Mehta, and Aftab Shivdasani alias Prem Chawla. The flick features Urvashi Rautela alias Ragini as the leading lady. The movie also stars Sana Khan, Sonal Chauhan, Mishti, and Pooja Bose in pivotal roles. Earlier, the film was to release on the 22nd of July, but reports of the online leak of the movie’s pirated version forced its producers to prepone the release date to 15 July, 2016.

Plot

The ‘mastikhor’ trio of Vivek Oberoi (Meet Mehta), Riteish Deshmukh (Amar Saxena), and Aftab Shivdasani (Prem Chawla) is back with Great Grand Masti, an adult comedy flick, which has the three married men falling in love with a virgin ghost, Ragini (SMS) played by Urvashi Rautela. Like the first two parts, Great Grand Masti is also filled with dollops of adult comedy, making it a movie that is definitely not for the families out there.

Prem and Meet accompany Amar to his ancestral home in Dudhwadi, where they encounter an underclad women, Ragini, who is a malevolent spirit and needs to copulate with a man in order to be liberated from the human form. The three men, who initially were leaving no stone unturned in wooing the lady, now run in the opposite direction. Will Ragini be successful in grabbing the three men or will the latter drop off their idea of having ‘Masti’ outside marriage is what forms the crux of Great Grand Masti.

Performances

The lead actors, including Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh have put some decent performances in the film. Their comic timing has been superb throughout the movie and it seems the three actors have mastered the art of playing the roles of Amar, Prem, and Meet in the best possible manner.

Urvashi Rautela, on the other hand, has delivered a strictly average performance. None of the actresses, including Mishti, Pooja and Shraddha, who play the role of wives, have lived up to the expectations. There are sequences in the movie where it’s felt that their acting was forced.

Other actors including Sanjay Mishra and Usha Nadkarni have done complete justice to their respective roles.

Great Grand Masti Music

The music album of Great Grand Masti is undoubtedly full of  ‘MASTIII’. The opening song “Teri Kamar Ko” has been energeticaly sung by two sons of Shravan Rathod of Nadeem-Shravan fame. Sanjeev and Darshan Rathod have sung this number in a fabulous way, making it a peppy, addictive, enjoyable, and truly hummable track among all.

Next is “Resham Ka Rumaal” which is yet another peppy number that will force you to groove to its beats. The song’s funkiness will make it an instant hit in discotheques. Fetched from Ila Arun’s song, Resham Ka Rumaal has elements of rap which have come out quite impressively.

Third track in Great Grand Masti’s music album is “I Wanna Tera Ishq”. This track takes off quite addictively and instantly attracks the listener’s attention. This groovy number is sure to become popular with the DJs at the weddings, birthdays and engagement parties.

Last track in the music album of Great Grand Masti is “Lipstick Laga Ke”, which has excellent vocals by Shaan and Payal Dev. This Punjabi pop number has a slow-paced tune and sounds like a typical “Kanika Kapoor” number. Awesome guitar riffs accompanied by nice shehnais have made “Lipstick Laga Ke” an immensely adorable song.

What’s Good?

The way in which the three leading actors have fitted into the roles of Amar, Prem and Meet is truly commendable. Plus, the movie’s music and cinematography has served as its major plus points.

What’s Bad?

Lame jokes, faulty direction, and ambiguous screenplay have made Great Grand Masti a movie that is neither ‘great’ nor ‘grand’, but simply ‘boring’.

Verdict

Hardcore fans of the Masti franchise wouldn’t be disappointed with Great Grand Masti. The cheap thrills and adult jokes could impress the movie’s followers.
