The trailer of another histro-fiction by Ashutosh Gowarikar, Panipat was launched early on November 5, with Arjun Kapoor in the lead.
The film is set in 1761, based on the Third Battle of Panipat between the Maratha Empire and the King of Afghanistan.
Arjun Kapoor in the film is playing a Maratha warrior Sadashiv Rao Bhau and Kirti Sanon as his wife Parvati Bai. As the trailer progress, we discover Sanjay Dutt as Aghani King Ahmad Shah Abdali. After a long period of time, Padmini Kolhapure will be seen on big screen as Gopika Bai.
The trailer starts with chants of a war cry “Har Har Mahadev” and revisits the chapters of the blotted out Battle of Panipat in this three minutes trailer.
Further, the trailer illustrates deserted islands filled with army, Peshwa royalty appointing Sadashiv as the commander-in-chief who sets out to save Hindustan from the ruthless Afgan ruler, Abdali.
In almost, all of the trailer there is a reflection of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’. From the grandeur of its sets, clothes, design – looks like a reiteration of SLB’s epic dramas. However, what makes it unique is its action sequences – which could be the one thing standing out in rest of the film.
After films like Lagaan (2001), Jodha Akbar (2008), Mohenjo Daro (2016), Gowarikar is all set to bring to the audience another large-scale epic drama Panipat, scheduled to release on December 6, 2019.
