Goa Police has arrested two accused in Sonali Phogat’s death case. The names of the accused are Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Wasi. Sonali’s family had accused Sudhir Sangwan of murder and rape. On August 25, the Goa Police added murder sections in the Sonali Phogat death case.
In the year 2019, when Sonali Phogat was made the BJP candidate in the Haryana Assembly elections, Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Wasi came in contact with her. After the election, Sudhir started working with Sonali as a personal assistant and manager. Later Sukhwinder also started working with Sonali. Sudhir Sangwan is also seen with Sonali and her daughter in some pictures posted by Sonali Phogat on Instagram.
What allegations did Sonali Phogat’s family make?
In the complaint given to Goa Police, Sonali Phogat’s brother Rinku Dhaka has accused Sudhir Sangwan and Sukhwinder Wasi of murder. Rinku has also accused Sudhir of raping Sonali. He has alleged that Sudhir was blackmailing Sonali for a long time by making a video of the rape. It has also been alleged that Sudhir Sangwan had completely kept Sonali under his control, due to which Sonali could not even talk to her family.
The brother also alleged that Sudhir had started keeping complete accounts of Sonali’s money and property, Sonali used to sign without reading papers many times. Rinku mentioned in his complaint, that Sonali called and told him that she would reach Haryana and complain against Sudhir before death.
According to Rinku Dhaka’s complaint, Sudhir stole Sonali’s house in 2019. After this, he fired all the old people working in Sonali’s place and hired his friend Sukhwinder and both the people started suppressing Sonali.
Sonali Phogat’s postmortem report
Sonali Phogat’s post-mortem report came on August 25. The cause of death could not be ascertained. However, it has been revealed in the report that there were many injury marks on Sonali’s body.
