How to reach Kasol?

The village is easily accessible by road and is one of the most explored locations in India by foreign visitors. The NH-3 is the main road that connects this village to Manali. A road trip should be as joyful and pleasurable as a visit to Kasol. You have the option of driving yourself or hiring a cab. For those travelling great distances, Delhi serves as a starting point. In Delhi, several travel agencies offer vehicle rental and cab services to Kasol.

In addition, the bus runs daily from Kashmiri Gate ISBT in Delhi to Kasol, with semi-sleeper Volvos costing between Rs 1,000 – Rs 1,500 per person. This travel takes around 11 to 12 hours. You must then land at Bhuntar and board another bus to Manikaran.

Things to do in Kasol:

  • Trek to KheerGanga

The journey to Kheerganga is a challenging yet enjoyable nine-kilometre, four-hour trek. This hill is a beautiful retreat that attracts both Indians and foreign travellers. The lovely company of beautiful clouds, dense and wet due to the weather and snow-capped mountains, may be seen from the summit of the Kheerganga. There is also a lovely and mysterious temple of Lord Shiva with hot spring baths for pious Indians, which has a fascinating appearance.

  • Visit Manikaran Sahib

This Gurudwara (6km from Kasol) may revive your faith by allowing you to wash away your mistakes and experience the calm surrounding yourself. The lovely environment that surrounds Manikaran is reason enough to pay a visit. Take a dip in the hot springs located inside, which have therapeutic effects. Furthermore, the ‘Langar’ is delicious to make you forget your troubles! When visiting Manikaran in Kasol, make sure to pack cloth or a handkerchief to put over your head.

Kasol is also a home for excellent food, however a lesser-known thing. Kasol, hidden away in the bush in a secluded part of the earth, is a popular destination for young Israelis. As a result, the name Mini Israel was coined. The effect is evident in the Hebrew-inscribed signboards and the presence of Israeli delicacies. When in Kasol, don’t look for anything extravagant. Excellent cuisine is served at streetside eateries. If possible, eat outside. There is no dirt threatening to contaminate your meals in this pure valley. A sight of the massive hills and dark green forests enhances your dining experience.
