6. Mayong Black Magic and Witchcraft Museum, Guwahati
If you know anything about the village Mayong, you would agree that there couldn’t be any better location for a museum on black magic than here. Mayong is itself considered the originating land of witchcraft and black magic. And, the locals are believed to actively engage in the supernatural activities here and there such as healing (you can be given a live demo of it in the museum!) and even ‘finding missing objects’. Don’t ask how.
The whole town has been filled with rumours of people disappearing in thin air, humans turning into beasts, and other spooky anecdotes. Enter the museum and you’ll be handed the written accounts of black magic and Tantrik manuscripts. Trust us, your best read hasn’t happened yet. Also, here you’ll find skulls, special tools used for sorcery, and handmade dolls. Your thirst for occult can never be satisfied fully until you come here and see it for yourself how magic morphs into reality!
