Regular bus service is available from the city of Ujjain that lies at a distance of 55 kilometers from Indore. The buses traverse 1 and a half hours to reach Indore from Ujjain. Buses also ply from the city of Bhopal to Indore. The capital city of the state of Madhya Pradesh lies at a distance of 186 kilometers from Indore. Buses travel for five hours to reach the city. Inter state and intra state buses connect Indore to Mumbai, Maheshwar, Aurangabad, Sanchi, Ahmedabad, Gwalior, Mandu, Omkareshwar and Vidisha.
