Achievements of Mr. Ashok Gehlot as Chief Minister of Rajasthan
Mr. Ashok Gehlot was elected as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan in the year 1998. Since, 1st December, 1998 to 8th December, 2003, he was successful in making his first Chief Ministership remarkable for good and unparalleled governance. He played a significant role in drought management, infrastructure development, financial management, power generation, employment generation, tourism promotion and industrialization.
During that period, Rajasthan witnessed this century's worst famine. With personal monitoring, Mr. Gehlot was able to manage the relief works so efficiently that the opposition party was even not in a position to point out any shortcoming.
Mr. Ashok Gehlot has always been found by the side of poor with his famous slogan "Save Water, Save Electricity, Educate All". Besides being a political leader, Ashok Gehlot is known for his social works. This is what made the residents of Rajasthan select him as their Chief Minister again on 13th December, 2008.

Mr. Ashok Gehlot used to take active participation in social service and politics since, his college days. Much before becoming the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, he was elected in the Lok Sabha in the year 1980 from the Parliamentary Constituency of Jodhpur.
