Places to See in Tawang
Tawang is located in the north-west part of Arunachal Pradesh and is the district headquarters of the Tawang Distict. Situated at an elevation of 3,048 meters and is famous for being the birth place of the sixth Dalai Lama, Nagwang Lobsang Gyatso and is home to the largest Buddhist Monastery in India. Tawang also remains an important pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Buddhists.
Bap Teng Kang

Located 37 km from Tawang, this is one of the most unique passes in the world and is also the pass the Dalai Lama used to enter India while escaping from Tibet. This is where you will see the Indo-China border which is located at a height of 16,000 feet above sea level. Only approachable by road, a special permit is required by Indian citizens to go to Bumla and foreigners are not allowed here.
