The Amba MataTemple is one of the major attractions in the city of Junagadh., Gujarat. Thousands of devotees visit this temple all around the year to seek blessings of Goddess Amba Mata. The temple was constructed during the 12th century and has a special place in the Hindu Religion.

Newlywed couples come to seek the blessings of Amba Mata for a happy married life. There is no idol in this temple, there is a golden yantra which is placed inside and has 51 shlokas written on it. People come and pray to this special yantra and seek the blessings. The temple also boasts of footprints both of the Goddess as well as her chariot.

Once here, do remember to watch the enlightening folk drama divulging the history behind this auspicious temple known as 'Bhavai'. Pilgrims have to climb nearly 5000 steps to reach to the top of the temple. It is always advisable to start your journey very early so that you can avoid the heat during the latter part of the day.

Once you reach the top you can see the scenic beauty around and the small down town and feel the peaceful aura of the temple. One can really enjoy here during the Navratras when the Goddess is worshipped with songs and dances.

Amba Mata temple is situated at a height of 600 meters at the top of Girnar Hills in Junagadh city of Gujarat.

Best Time to visit

With maximum temperatures going up to 48 degrees during the summer, it is not advisable to visit Amba Mata Temple during the summer season that starts from March to June.

During the monsoon season, the weather is quite damp and humid throughout this season.

The best season to visit is between October to February when the temperature is between 24 degrees during the day and around 10 degrees during the night.
