Some Pleasant Surprises
Now, looking at the brighter side, we do have some pleasant surprises as well. Some which turned out to be a blockbuster hit, like Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Neither it had a big tested star-cast and a huge budget, nor some powerful out-of-the-world script. But the odds worked in its favour, and the film grossed three times of its production cost, earning Rs 150 crore on box office. Entering into 100 crore club always get one a place in the industry’s hall of fame. And, this one marched its way straight in there. The next thing which was surprising was Stree. This is not only a hit but a super hit. This is also the tenth highest grossing movie of the Bollywood for this year! Firstly, selling a horror film is difficult. Secondly, selling a horror-comedy is even more difficult, let alone the bringing around of the tricky concept it is. But, it surpassed the expectations and broke all the records for this genre. And, we are happy about getting a new theme which can work, as we know now.
