Apple Rabdi Recipe
“An apple a day keeps the doctor away“, we have grown up listening to this adage. I don’t know how true is it, however, apple really stands out with its high nutritional content and is rich in dietary fibres, vitamins and minerals. It’s also good to be had while on a weight loss diet. I therefore thought of making a delicious dessert of this amazing fruit.
Apple Rabdi is an excellent variation to the regular rabdi made by thickening the full cream milk and apple giving it a nice crunch. People conscious of sugar can use the substitutes, nonetheless the dessert is destined to please everyone. This delectable dessert can be made quickly and decorated with apple slices and dry fruits. It looks best when served in a broad serving dish such that the apple slices can be lined properly for garnishing.
Ingredients needed for Apple Rabdi
All you need is :
Full cream milk – 1 litre
White bread slice – 2 (remove the corners and blend in a blender)
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Sugar – 1/4 cup
Fresh apple – 1 (peeled and grated)
Fresh apple – 1/2 sliced
Almonds – 6/8 slivered
Pistachios – 6/8 slivered
How to make Apple Rabdi Recipe
Heat milk in heavy bottom pan.
When the milk comes to boil, reduce heat and simmer.
Cook till milk is reduced to half.
Add cardamom powder, bread slice powder and sugar and cook till milk is further thickened.
Remove from heat and cool.
Add grated apple and mix well.
Decorate with apple slices and slivered almonds and pistachios.
