Recipe for Malai Kofta

Malai kofta is a delicious Indian cuisine which is mainly served at royal weddings in the country. The gravy of this dish is made from rich ingredients like cashew nuts and cream. Malai kofta can be enjoyed with lip-smacking butter naan or Lachha paratha. 

Here’s the recipe for this mouth-watering dish:

Ingredients 

  • 200g grated cottage cheese
  • Four boiled potatoes 
  • 12-15 Cashew Nuts 
  • Fresh Amul cream
  • 3-4 tomatoes 
  • Arrowroot
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chilli powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Garam Masala
  • Coriander powder 
  • Oil

Recipe

1. First, grate the cheese and mash the boiled potatoes.

2. Add salt, red chilli powder and black pepper to the mixture of boiled potatoes and cheese. 

3. With the help of your hands, take one spoon of mixture and give it a round cylindrical shape.

4. Keep following the previous step to make the potato nuggets in perfect cylindrical shapes.

5. Mix the potato nuggets in cornflour one by one.

6. Heat a pan and add some oil to it. Then add the potato nuggets and fry them until golden brown.

7. Take a grinder, and add cashew nuts and tomatoes. Make a fine paste. 

8. Now heat another pan and add some oil to it. Pour the tomato and cashew nuts gravy into the oil. 

9. Add salt, red chilli powder, and Coriander powder and stir well until the oil starts getting out on its own.

10. Now add the cream and a little amount of water. Let it cook for 5 minutes.

11. Turn off the flame and add the fried potato nuggets before serving. 

 

12.Serve hot with butter naan or lachha paratha.
