Tangy Jaljeera

Jaljeera word is made with two words “jal” & “jeera”. Jal in Hindi means water while “jeera” or “zeera” means cumin, so the Jaljeera drink is primarily made with cumin water. Cumin, with its nutritive benefits, soothes the stomach and hence this drink is commonly used in summers to guard against excessive heat and as a digestive for heavy meals. We use other ingredients mixed in the drink to give nice flavour and aroma. For my tangy drink I mixed lemon extract, amchoor, and some mint leaves. It’s ideal to make this drink a few hours ahead of serving, so tht the flavours seep in thoroughly. I keep making this drink to always stock in my fridge through the summers, as this is one energiser which my family continuously needs when back from the scorching sun. I also serve it along with meals as a drink. I’m sure you have tried this drink before in restaurants and street shops, so why not make this with this easy Tangy Jaljeera Recipe!
