About Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Salman Khan is all set to spell his magic and wish his fans Eid Mubarak as Bajrangi Bhaijaan! Almost a year after their previous release Kick, superstar Salman Khan and director Kabir Khan are back as a team to woo their audience. Moreover, with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman is also making his debut as a Bollywood producer. His fans are already abuzz with the trailer of the movie, which also stars the ever charming Kareena Kapoor, the talented Nawazuddin Siddiqui and a cute little girl, Harshaali Malhotra who is making her debut.

There were rumours that Bajrangi Bhaijaan revolves around the theme of ‘Love Jihad’ which the director, Kabir Khan rubbished stating it to be in fact a masala film. The movie seems to be a performance packed drama and we can surely expect some superb dialogues and not to be missed, Salman’s and Nawazuddin’s comic timing from the film. Kareena has already said that Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be Salman’s biggest movie till date, and believes it will easily cross the 100 crore mark.

Plot: The story revolves around a little, mute Pakistani girl Munni (Harshaali Malhotra), who loses her way and finds herself in India. Hanuman devotee, Pavan or Bajrangi (Salman Khan) as he is affectionately called, takes the tough task of getting her back to her homeland.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan Music

Pritam Chakraborty has composed the music of the film. With the energetic and catchy number ‘Selfie Le Le Re’ already ‘clicking’ around, Adnan Sami’s qawwali, ‘Bhar do Jholi Meri’ is a soulful respite. Atif Aslam adds voice to the innocent chemistry between Salman and Kareena in the song ‘Tu Chahiye’.

Performance: With his stellar performance Salman Khan effortlessly proves how some roles can be best pulled off by just one man, and that is the man himself! He has always been acclaimed for his wit, Dabangg style, incomparable dance moves, and catchy punchlines, but as ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, Salman has yet again established himself as one of the finest actors of Bollywood.

Kareena Kapoor does justice to her role as Rasika, Bajrangi’s love interest. It was good to see Salman and Kareena together after their last release Bodyguard.

Harshaali Malhotra will steal your heart as Shahida aka Munni, the protagonist of the film. With her innocence, cuteness and charm, she delivered a brilliant performance despite of no dialogs in the film. She is simply adorable!

Nawazuddin Siddiqui was an excellent choice for the role of Pakistani journalist. He ruled the second half of the film with his brilliant comic timing and spellbinding acting! He made the movie even more interesting.

Sharat Saxena, Om Puri and Alka Kaushal were seen as supporting actors.

What’s good: The movie intelligently conveys a very strong message of love, peace and humanity beyond religion and borders, through a journey where in a simple, honest man helps a child reach her home putting everything else on stake. Though Bahubali’s commendable performance over Indian cinema was suspected to affect Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the movie is actually proving its stance with not only the stardom of Salman Khan but by being magical in it’s own genre, wiping out all prejudices.

The heart-warming chemistry between Salman Khan and Harshaali Malhotra is the show-stealer. The film is an emotional journey with interesting dialogues, drama and innocent comedy!

What’s bad: Salman Khan’s fans might miss too much of action in this one. Songs seems to be stuffed in the movie, some of which could have been avoided and thus, making it a little less stretchy.

Verdict: Whether or not you are a Salman Khan fan, DO NOT miss this one!

Bajrangi Bhaijaan Rating: **** 4/5
