Kaza is the capital of Spiti and is located at an easily accessible distance from the hill town of Manali. The exquisite Spiti valley is located between an altitude of 3300 meters and 5000 meters above sea level. In this picturesque location there are two religious sites that attract many pilgrims every year. Visit the famous Ki and Kibber Gompas as you pass by the small town of Kaza.
There are two tourist buses from Manali to Kaza plying every day. It is best to start early in the morning if you want to visit Kaza while being based in Manali. The distance of Kaza from Manali is about 213 kilometers.
Kaza in Himachal Pradesh can also be visited from Simla via Rekong Peo. It takes about twenty hours to travel this 420 kilometers by bus. There are two buses that ply regularly to Kaza from Simla.
It is advisable to take the Simla- Rekong Peo- Kaza route if you wish to travel during the winter months, as it remains open throughout the year.
