The government is encouraging the participation of the private-sector companies to invest more and more amount in the infrastructural development of Mangalore. In an attempt to enhance the private-sector participation in such projects, the government has promised to give concessions in case of investments of more than Rs. 100 crore.
The airport of Mangalore is the second airport after the airport of Bangalore that operates flights to destinations outside the country.
The condition of the health infrastructure at Mangalore has also shown a great deal of progress with a number of government as well as private hospitals opening up in the city, which provide medical services for different kinds of health-related problems.
One of the prime sectors of Mangalore that have shown a great deal of development is the power sector. The production of power and its large-scale distribution are being emphasized.
