Surat is one of the largest and most populous cities in Gujarat. This city has achieved amazing economic growth, to the tune of 11.5% GDP growth rate. The new terminal building of this airport?, upgraded at a cost of Rs. 40 crore, can handle 240 passengers on an hourly basis. Facilities available in the airport are air bridges, Visual Docking Guiding System, escalators, elevators, seating lounge, baggage X-ray machine, eateries, duty-free shops, etc. Taxi service is available from the airport. Bus stand and railway station are located nearby.
