Roadways from Kanyakumari to Nagercoil are well developed, as Nagercoil is the administrative center of the entire Kanyakumari district. The town of Nagercoil lies some 19 to 20 kilometers from the Kanyakumari town. The place is known for its Nagaraja temple and derives its name from the same. The Nagercoil city is located in the southern part of Tamilnadu. This city was previously a part of Kerala but after the revision of borders, it was included in Tamil Nadu .
The Nagercoil houses a railway line. Regular trains are available fro Nagercoil, which ferry passengers from Nagercoil to Kanyakumari and from Kanyakumari to Nagercoil. Bus services from Nagercoil to Kanyakumari and in the vice versa route are very comfortable and they are available several times in a day. This apart, tourists can also avail the local car rental services.
