In this article, we will discuss four easy Sabudana recipes for Navratri fasting:

  • Sabudana Khichdi

Sabudana Khichdi is a popular dish made during fasting. It is easy to make and requires minimal ingredients. To make Sabudana Khichdi, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup Sabudana
  • One medium-sized potato
  • One green chilli
  • One tablespoon peanuts
  • One tablespoon ghee
  • Salt to taste

Soak sabudana in water for 2-3 hours. Drain the water and keep it aside. Cut the potato into small cubes. In a pan, heat ghee and add peanuts. Roast the peanuts until they turn golden brown. Add cubed potatoes and sauté for a minute. Add chopped green chillies and sauté for another minute. Add soaked Sabudana and salt to taste. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat. Your Sabudana Khichdi is ready to serve.

  • Sabudana Vada

Sabudana Vada is a crispy and delicious snack made during fasting. To make Sabudana Vada, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup Sabudana
  • One medium-sized potato
  • One tablespoon peanuts
  • One tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  • One green chilli
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Soak sabudana in water for 2-3 hours. Drain the water and keep it aside. Boil the potato and mash it. Add chopped green chillies, coriander leaves, roasted peanuts, and salt to taste. Mix well. Make small balls out of the mixture and flatten them to give them the shape of vadas. Heat oil in a pan and fry the vadas until golden brown. Your Sabudana Vada is ready to serve.

  • Sabudana Kheer

Sabudana Kheer is a popular dessert made during fasting. It is easy to make and requires minimal ingredients. To make Sabudana Kheer, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup Sabudana
  • 3 cups milk
  • Three tablespoons sugar
  • One tablespoon ghee
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Chopped nuts for garnishing

Soak sabudana in water for 2-3 hours. Drain the water and keep it aside. In a pan, heat ghee and add soaked Sabudana. Sauté for a minute. Add milk and let it come to a boil. Keep stirring to avoid lumps. Add sugar and cardamom powder. Mix well and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve.

Sabudana Papad

Ingredients required for sabudana papad are:

  • Sabudana – 250 gms. (2 cup)
  • Water – 2 ltr. (10 cup)
  • Salt – According to the taste or 2/3 teaspoon.

To prepare sabudana papad, we begin by selecting small-sized, high-quality sabudana. The sabudana is washed and soaked in 4 cups water for 2 hours, with the water-to-sabudana ratio being 2:1.

Next, we take a deep pan and heat 6 cups of water. Once the water starts boiling, we add the soaked sabudana and salt. It is important to stir the mixture continuously to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

Within half an hour, sabudans will get properly cooked. Leave the mixture for some time to thick and make sabudana papad.
