India has bicameral Parliament. Lower house, Lok Sabha is elected directly. In 2019, 900 Million voters are eligible to vote. They would vote for 543 seats. There are total 545 seats in Lok Sabha, the lower house. Two seats are reserved for Anglo Indians, they are filled by nomination.
Special provisions are being made to regularize use of social media platforms. There is going to be action against abuse of social media for political gains.
In 2014 General Election, 810 Million people were eligible to vote. This year there would be paper trail machines at all polling stations. Number of polling stations has been increased by 10% too. Chief Election Commissioner of India, Sunil Arora is confident about preparedness of the state to conduct an exercise of this scale.
There are four states which are simultaneously going for Sate Elections too: Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha. Jammu & Kashmir State Election schedule has not been announced.
