Your Sleeping Position Holds Key to Skin Ageing

2. Sleeping on Your Sides

Sleeping on Your Sides

This second position falls somewhere in between the ideal ‘sleeping on back position’ and the ‘sleeping on your stomach’. In this position, you put tremendous pressure on one side of your face. This flattens your cheekbone in the contact and causes wrinkles resulting from all the pressure and friction. Although it is not the most beneficial sleeping position, it is the most common. So, here is something you should do if you can’t let go of this one. First, keep changing sides. This way no side would be subjected to pressure from the pillow for long. Secondly, choose satin or silk pillowcase and never the cotton ones. Cotton pillowcases can suck the moisture out of your skin, leaving it dry. And we all know dry skins become the canvas for the wrinkles very soon.
