The United Territory of Lakshadweep, a archipelago is formed by the the following islands such as Kavaratti, Kalpeni, Minicoy, Kadmat, Agatti Island and Bangaram. Lakshadweep is linked with the main land by ships and by flights.
To say about the Lakshadweep airport, Agatti airport is the only public domestic airport operational from the Lakshadweep islands. While approaching the Agatti island the viewer gets an amazing areal view of the only airstrip from the top.
Lakshadweep is linked to the mainland by the Cochin International Airport. There are regular flights that fly from Cochin to Agatti and the approximate time taken is about one hour thirty minutes. The flights from Agatti and too the same are operational only six days a week except Sundays.
The Kingfisher links the island with Bangalore via the Cochin International Airport. The onward flights are available from Cochin Airport to all the major cities of India and to selected cities of foreign countries.
Helicopter service are available from Agatti airport, the only Lakshadweep airport to Bangaram Island Resort during the monsoon season and to Kavaratti island all through the year.
