Pune Airport is under the apex body of the Indian airports, the Airports Authority of India and the Indian Air Force (IAF). Pune is the second biggest city of the western state of Maharashtra. The airport is located at a distance of 10 kilometers from the city in Lohegaon. Apart from domestic flights, international flights are also available from the Pune Airport.

New Pune International Airport

The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC) has been assigned to execute the new Pune International Airport project. The area between Chakan and Rajgurunagar located about 40 kilometers from the Pune city are being considered for the new project. The proposed airport will cover more than 2535 hectares of land and this will make it as the biggest airport in India.
