Road Transport in Dehradun has a very well maintained network. You can easily drive into Dehradun from any nearby city or town. From Delhi, if you follow the GT Road and pass through Hindon River Bridge, Modinagar, Meerut, Muzzafarnagar and Roorkee, you will reach Dehradun in about 6 hours.

Road Transport in Dehradun comprises of buses, cars, and taxis. For short journeys or journeys from nearby town areas like Delhi, Haridwar, Kedarnath, Mussoorie, Naianital, etc, you can take up private cars. You can also avail buses for journeys to and from Agra, Delhi, Rishikesh, Haridwar, Mussoorie, Shimla, etc.

Buses that are part of road transport in Dehradun can be categorized into three groups : Deluxe, Semi-deluxe, and Ordinary buses. The first one offers you all luxury including color television. The second one is less luxurious than the first one but still provide items of comfort. The third one does not offer much services.
