Go Air

Promoted by the Wadia Group, Go Air was established in June 2004. Go Air started its operations from November 2005. It operates Airbus A320 aircraft and started off with flights from Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa and Coimbatore. Presently, it operates flights to 13 cities with 61 daily flights.

The destinations currently covered include Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Mumbai, Pune and Srinagar. main base is Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai.


It has tied up with Radixx International, a leading technology provider of automated aviation and travel related software solutions. As part of its expansion plans, it placed an order for 10 Airbus A320 aircraft in July 2006.

The Wadia Group has widespread business interests and owns the brands Britannia and Bombay Dyeing. The airline is the brainchild of its Managing Director, Jeh Wadia. It aims to offer airline tickets at prices marginally higher than first and second class air conditioned train fares to all cities in India in a phased manner. Go Air's objective is to offer its passengers a consistent, quality-assured and efficient performance at affordable fares.

Go Air airlines has tried to target the First, Second and Third A/C Railway passengers and Volvo Bus Passengers. Its fares are 40% lower than that of traditional airlines and has seen a rapid growth in terms of passenger volume since the time of its inception.
