Paramount Airlines

A low-cost private airline, Paramount Airways was launched on October 19, 2005. Owned by the Paramount Group, a leading textile manufacturer based in Madurai, Tamil Nadu and headquartered in Coimbatore, Paramount Airways offers several value-added services like valet assistance in boarding the plane, gourmet meals, and a range of in-flight services and entertainment.

The first Indian airline to fly the New Generation Embraer 170/190 Family Series aircrafts, Paramount is the first airline to offer direct flights to a number of commercial hotspots in India. It presently operates in the South Indian cities of Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Madurai.

In July 2005, Paramount placed an order for 5 planes (2 Embraer 170s and 3 Embraer 175s) at the Paris Air Show, 2005. The airline is contemplating to place an order for upto 15 aircraft for with the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer in the next few months and plans to have a national presence by early 2010.
