The species that are kept in this park are of varied origin. The wide variety of birds protected in this sanctuary are worth admiring. Several avian species such as Grey partridges, bush quail, Indian rollers, bee eaters can be seen all over the place. Some rare and extinct species such as the Great Indian Bustard can be viewed within the sanctuary. A large number of reptiles are also found dwelling in this park. The monitor lizards, spiny tail lizards, saw scaled vipers are abundantly found.
The other sub-attractions of the desert national park are the lakes. This national park is dotted with Padam Talao lake, Rajbaugh lake, Milak lake. These lakes are the refuge of the wild species. The vegetation that is commonly seen growing within the park are ronj, palm trees, bear, dhok. There also lies the sand dunes, which covers almost 20% of the region of the park. Desert National Park was established in the year 1980. It covers a total land area of more than 3,100 square kilometers.

This national park is located 40 K.M. away from Jaisalmer.
Best Time to Visit
The most preferred time for visiting the wildlife reserve is between the months October and March.
How to Reach
You can either hire a cab for your convenience or take a bus ride. Either way, it will be easier for you to reach this national park.
