19. HRIDAY – Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana

Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana
Launched on January 21, 2015, this Modi scheme aims to preserve the heritage character of all the Heritage Cities in the country. The goal is to bring together the economic growth and urban planning to realize the vision. Set with a budget of ₹500 crore, its target cities are Warangal, Velankanni, Varanasi, Mathura, Puri, Kanchipuram, Gaya, Dwarka, Badami, Amritsar, Amaravati, and Ajmer. This scheme supports the revitalization of urban infrastructures such as monuments, and other heritage assets such as temples, Ghats, and more. It is believed that it will  also oversee the development of information kiosks, citizen services, public transportation and parking, roads, sanitation facilities, etc.
