Sunil Chhetri
India is a country of cricket lovers- it has always been, and will likely remain so for quite some time. However, 2018 marked the (partial rise) of yet another sport – football. Partial credit can be given to Sunil Chhetri, the captain of the Indian Football Team.
In June 2018, Chhetri became the world’s second highest goal-scorer among other active players, a position he now shares with Lionel Messi. Not only that, his track record for the number of goals per match is even better than that of Messi and Ronaldo. He has recently been nominated for the Best Footballer in Asia 2018 award.
