Gandhi Smriti

Gandhi Smriti stands in the center of Bhavnagar city as an institution that commemorates the life and meritorious service of the Father of the Nation. Established in 1955, the Gandhi Smriti has since then become one of the most frequented places in Bhavnagar.

Gandhi Smriti in Bhavnagar preserves a huge collection of books and other memorabilia used by Mahatma Gandhi. The repository also displays photographs that recreate the various events in the life of this great leader. Artifacts like religious carvings and betal cutters that are cultural representatives of Saurashtra are also found in Gandhi Smriti at Bhavnagar.

Other than the picture gallery and museum, Gandhi Smriti also houses a library and the Khadi Gramodyog Bhandar. An array of high quality local and traditional handicrafts and embroidered products are available at the Smriti. Gandhi Smriti of Bhavnagar is located in Crescent Circle and stands to the north east of the famous clock tower. The institution is easily accessible from different corners of the city.

The tourists may visit Gandhi Smriti, Bhavnagar on all days of the week excepting Sundays. The museum also remains closed on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month. An entrance charge of Rs 3 is charged to the visitors. The museum remains open for the public between 9 A.M to 6 P.M.
