Medical Colleges in Rajasthan

Rajasthan has been successful in carving out a place for itself in the education map of India, owing to various policies and initiatives that the government has taken up from time to time.

The literacy rate of the state has risen considerably over the past few years. Rajasthan now houses a large number of schools, colleges, management, engineering and medical colleges and universities.

The medical colleges of Rajasthan have helped the state extensively in raising up its health standards. In the year 1996-1997, the state government decided to open up the medical education for the private sector as well. Presently, Rajasthan boasts of a good number of medical, dental, nursery and pharmacy colleges.

The number of seats in various courses is also supposed to be increased as per the decisions taken up by the Rajasthan Government. Infrastructural facilities in the medical institutes are also being developed.

Students aspiring for medical education in Rajasthan, can enroll themselves in the undergraduate and post graduate programs offered by the medical colleges of Rajasthan like MBBS, BDS, B.Pharmacy, MS, MD, M.Pharmacy etc. There is also scope for pursuing specialty and doctoral programs.

Admission Process

Common Entrance Test is followed by the medical institutes at Rajasthan for admitting under- graduate students to medical programs. Students are selected for admission as per the results of the test. In order to seat and get through the test, students are required to score not less than 50 % marks in Science, in the 12th standard. Post graduate programs can be pursued only when the student has a Bachelor's degree in medical education.
