Higher education has been duly emphasized by the
Government of Rajasthan and the workings of the department of education have been actively promoting the masses to educate their children beyond school level.
The University Grants Commission records show that about 3,63,172 young girls and boys have enrolled into colleges and universities in the year 2002-2003 and the number of women enrolling into such institutions has been exceptionally high too.
About 1,17,416 i.e. 32.33% of the students enrolled were women. The following is a list of the universities in the state.
