Top NIT Colleges in India


NITs (National Institutes of Technology) are premier public engineering colleges in India. After IITs, they are considered the most important in terms of ranking for engineering education.

Brief History

NITs started as Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) in 1959. After 2002, they were treated as sister institutes to the IITs. In 2007, by an Act of Parliament, NITs were declared as "Institutes of National Importance".

Admission

To get admission in B.Tech at NITs, you have to crack the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main.
