Overview/HistoryThe India Art Fair had its origin in 2008 in New Delhi, providing an opportunity to artists to display their works of art and craft. The fair is attended by artists and enthusiasts from the world over.

The India Art Fair is the country's premier international art fair. It stages modern as well as contemporary from all parts of the world. The fair has already organized five editions, showcasing over 300 galleries of 3,000 artists. The 2012 edition of the fair saw 20 countries participating.
CelebrationThe India Art Fair 2014 will take place at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds in Okhla, Delhi. The venue is spread over an area of 47 acres. The art fair will have miscellaneous programmes, including a speakers' forum, performances, art projects, curated walks, book launches, an art bookstore, and much more.

This year's fair will have 30 International galleries and 50 Indian galleries with over 1,000 artists in total. A new custom-built venue has been designed and conceptualized for this year's fair. The speakers' forum will consist of renowned experts from India and around the world. More than 40 media partners, including national and international media companies, will be covering this event.

The speakers' forum will include renowned personalities of the art world, such as:
  • Chris Dercon, Director of the Tate Modern, London
  • Li Bing, Owner of the Beijing He Jing Yuan Art Museum, China
  • Homi K. Bhabha, Director of the Humanities Centre, Harvard
The India Art Fair 2014 will also host the Gallery Art Indus presenting a special collection 'Womb to Tomb', depicting the struggle of a woman. It will present the work of illustrious artists like Pankaj Mistry, Shakuntala Kulkarni, Nalini Malani, Ram Rahman, Samit Das, Amit Mehra, Abhishek Biswas, Raghu Rai, Pablo Bartholomew, Seema Kohli, etc.
