Districts and Administration in Sikkim: Sikkim is divided into four districts and has eight towns and nine sub divisions. Each district is governed by a Central Government appointed District Collector, who is in charge of administration in civilian areas in the district. Since Sikkim falls in a sensitive border area, large areas of the state are under the Indian Army. Many areas of the state are also restricted and permits are required to visit them.
Tourism in Sikkim: Nestled in the Himalayan Mountains, Sikkim is blessed with snow capped mountains and lush green valleys and has many places of interest for tourists. A few popular places of interest in Sikkim are; Rumtek Monastery, Baba Mandir, Nathu La Pass, Gurudingmar Lake and Dzongri Trek among others.
