Justice Indu Malhotra
As 2018 comes to an end, there is rarely anybody in the country who hasn’t heard the name of Indu Malhotra. Appointed in April 2018, she became the first-ever woman Justice in the Supreme Court. In 2007, she was designated a senior advocate in the apex court, the second woman to have been given the title.
Justice Indu Malhotra was part of the Supreme Court bench that passed the historic judgement, striking down portions of Section 377 in September 2018.
