MP Power Generation Private Limited


One of the major Reliance Power subsidiary MP Power Generation Private Limited was incorporated in 2007 at Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh to undertake a project based on coal-fired power. In order to execute this project Reliance has developed a partnership with GOMP.

MP Power Generation Private Limited is one of the major subsidiaries of Reliance Power. This Reliance subsidiary is set up with various aims. The main objective of this subsidiary is to develop 3,960 MW coal-fired power projects in MP. Chitrangi Tehsil, Sidhi District, MP has been selected as the site to develop this project. By July 2014 this project will be completed.

Incorporation of MP Power Generation Private Limited:

MP Power Generation Private Limited was incorporated on 7th September 2007. Reliance entered into a partnership with GOMP in order to establish a 4,000 MW power project based on coal-fire. This project needed to be sanctioned by the Reliance board. Other than that by 19th November 2007 a project installation planner should be submitted to GOMP. By 20th March, 2008 a study of the feasibility of this project is also to be approved by GOMP. The whole project should be completed by July 2014.

Agreements with GOMP:

According to the terms and conditions of the agreement signed between GOMP and Reliance Power, GOMP is supposed to provide all kinds of necessary assistance such as giving permission to access the available incentives. Out of the net power generated, 5% will be offered to GOMP by Reliance Power on the other hand. The charge is subjected to change according to the charge fixed by the electricity regulatory commission. However once in 20 years GOMP can reject 30% of the whole power produced.

Reliance Power is willing to develop both long term and short term agreements with GOMP to facilitate the projects undertaken by MP PGPL.
