Gurudwara Data Bandji Chhod

Gurudwara Data Bandji Chhod is a revered shrine housed within the premises of the awe inspiring Gwalior Fort. The gurudwara has tremendous significance in the history of medieval India and also happens to be an eminent pilgrimage site for the Sikhs.

Gurudwara Data Bandji Chhod was built in the memory of the former Sikh guru, Sant Har Govind Singh. Sant Har Govind Singh is credited as the sixth guru of the Sikhs. The pristine shrine is constructed of pearly white marble and is an imposing structure whose exteriors present a colorful kaleidoscope in stained glass. The regular chanting of the hymns cited in the holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib adds to the tranquility of the surroundings.

The Gurudwara Data Bandji Chhod is a commemorative tribute to Sant Har Govind Singh that draws myriads of pilgrims on a tour to Gwalior. It was this gurudwara where Sant Har Govind Singh had been incarcerated by the former Mughal potentate, Jehangir and thus happens to one of the most significant Sikh pilgrimage sites.
