For many of us, the onset of the summer season becomes a dilemma. The sweating skin, bad perspiration odor, oily hair, and of course, skin tanning haunt our minds. A wide range of products is available in the market to cater to these summer problems. But what about the tanned skin? Applying sunscreens with strong Sun Protection Factor (SPF) on the skin might sound relieving right now, but in the long run, they can have impeding effects on our skin.
Fret no more! Although the suntan will vanish eventually, still if you are in a hurry, here are natural ways by which you can quickly get rid of suntan in a jiffy!
1. Lemon juice & honey
The bleaching properties of lemon juice help in removing sun tan from the skin naturally while honey keeps your skin smooth and soft. Take one tablespoon of lemon juice and add some honey to it. Applying the mixture to your skin for 15 minutes and then washing it off with cold water can do wonders for your skin.
Honey has antibacterial and antioxidant properties and while lemon has a bleaching effect will give your skin a natural glow. You should do this process at least once a week. Also, do not prolong the process and try keeping honey on your face for the mentioned time period.

2. Turmeric & Bengal gram flour (besan) face pack
If you want to gently exfoliate the dead cells from your skin and remove suntan, then this turmeric face pack is definitely for you. Turmeric has the capacity to fight with the strong sun light rays and reduce the effect of Tan on your skin. Combine two tablespoons of the Bengal gram flour with a pinch of turmeric, some milk and one tablespoon of rose water. Apply this pack on the tanned skin leaving it for about 20 minutes and then wash your face with cold water. You can also gently massage your face by putting some water on the dried face pack.
3. Lemon juice, cucumber & rose water face pack
Saturated lemon juice is good for removing tan, but it doesn’t suit everyone. So it is always advisable to go for a face pack made with lemon juice. This was just that. For this face pack, you need to mix one tablespoon of each of the ingredients in a bowl. Dab the face pack on the tanned areas keeping it for 10-15 minutes until dry. Wash off with cold water. The lemon juice will reduce the tanning, and while cucumber is known to contain antioxidants which can prove to be good for your skin as it protect you from inflammation and sun damage.
Just like cucumber, Rose water is also rich in antioxidants which keeps the pH balance maintained on your skin and is a better option for individuals with sensitive skin.

4. Honey and Papaya face pack
Papaya is rich in vitamin A & C and since it is a tropical fruit it is contains good amount of water. Also, it contains an enzyme called pepsin which is greatly helpful in removing dead cells while also healing your skin.
The amazing exfoliating and bleaching properties of papaya makes it a perfect choice to remove suntan. The honey in this pack soothes and moisturises skin. For the pack preparation, mash 1/2 cup of papaya together with one tablespoon of honey. Let this pack sit for half an hour on the tanned areas and wash it off with cold water.

5. Masoor Dal, Tomato Juice and Aloe Vera face pack
All these three unusual ingredients are a true blessing for your skin. While, masoor dal and tomato juice help in removing the suntan. Aloe vera contains 99% of water in it and the rest 1 % is vitamins and minerals, as it is a medicinal plant it can be found in many form of gel or you can directly use its leaf. Applying the gel on affected area will give you direct relief due its excessive water capacity.
For the pack, make a paste of one cup of soaked masoor dal, add two tablespoon each of tomato juice and aloe vera. Apply this pack on your face and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash it off with cold water.

6. Tomato Juice & Yogurt
Tomatoes are always known to be rich in vitamins like A,B and potassium. It is citric in nature and is also said to prevent wrinkles. The citric acid present in the tomato juice is a natural tan remover. It removes dark spots and pigmentation from the skin while yoghurt moisturizes and soothes the skin.
Mix one tablespoon each of tomato juice and yoghurt. Slather the pack on the tanned skin. Keep it for 1/2 an hour before washing off with cold water.

7. Oatmeal & Buttermilk face pack
This face pack is packed with excellent benefits for removal of skin tanning. While oatmeal helps in exfoliating the skin, the lactic acid in buttermilk softens it and improves the skin tone. Combine three tablespoon of buttermilk with two tablespoon of oatmeal. Blend it together to form a paste like mixture, and then apply it at the affected area. Let the mixture dry for 30 minutes and then wash it with warm water.

19. Multani Mitti 7 Aloe Vera face pack
Both of them are enriched with anti-inflammatory properties relieving the effects of the sunburns. Mix two tablespoons of Multani Mitti and one tablespoon of aloe vera gel with some rose water. Apply this face pack on your tanned areas, letting it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse with cold water.

Combine one tablespoon of milk cream with some strands of saffron. Cover the tanned areas with this paste, leaving it for 15 minutes. Rinse with normal water.
22. Cornmeal & Lemon Juice face pack
Face packs made with cornmeal are the talk of the town nowadays. Cornmeal and lemon juice together can make even the dullest skins look healthy and radiant. Add two tablespoons of cornmeal to one tablespoon of lemon juice. Massage this scrub on your skin in circular motions. Let it sit for about 20 minutes and then wash it with cold water.
23. Almonds, rose water & lemon juice
A well-known source of vitamin E, almonds are also useful in treating sunburns and fighting sun tan naturally. Make a paste of 4-5 almonds and add rose water and some lemon juice to it. Apply this paste on the affected tanned areas and scrub for about 5 minutes. Rinse.
24. Green Tea
Green tea is famous for its antioxidants which are extremely helpful while treating tanned skin and reducing skin blemishes. Just dip a green tea bag in a cup of hot water. Let it cool down. Dab a cotton ball in it and apply on the tanned areas. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then wash off.

25. Lemon Juice & Sugar
Lemon juice and sugar together make a perfect exfoliating scrub to treat tanned skin. Lemon juice will reduce the suntan, while sugar will exfoliate the dead skin cells from the skin.
