Bund Garden

Pune is one of the most well built and beautiful cities in the state of Maharashtra. Pune houses several parks and gardens that form a major source of recreation and entertainment in the city. Frequented by tourists and locals alike the many parks and gardens in Pune offer ultimate refreshment from the monotony of routine life.

The Bund Garden is one of the most well-known parks among the gardens of Pune. The Bund Garden is located at a distance of 2 kilometers from the Pune Railway Station. It was built on the instructions of Sir Jamshedji Jeejeebhoy. Situated on the right bank of the Mula- Mutha Rivers, the Bund Garden is a welcome retreat during the season of winters, when a host of migratory birds take refuge here from the extreme cold elsewhere.

A few years ago, an aesthetically designed jogging track was added at a very close distance from the garden, which contributed much in enhancing its popularity with local residents and chance visitors and tourists.

Just incase you want to enjoy the extreme natural beauty and transcend into another world altogether then you can get onto one of the boats and ride on the backwaters of the Mula - Mutha River.

The Bund Garden nowadays is also known by the alternative name of the Mahatma Gandhi Udyan. This is because the bridge here reaches across the river to the Gandhi National Memorial.

As the name suggests, the place has derived its name from a mini dam that has been constructed across the Mula - Mutha River. Magic shows and horse rides are frequently organized at the Bund Garden in order to entertain young children who accompany their parents to the place.

The Bund Garden is one of the several much-frequented hangout spots of the city of Pune. If you are in the city of Pune, do not miss a chance of visiting this beautiful garden place of Bund Garden in Pune
