The Konyak Nagas are well reputed craftsmen and artisans. Some of the popular items created by them are daos, wood carvings, guns, gunpowder, head brushes, headgear, necklaces. One of the most important segment of the cultural life of the people of this district is the festival called ' Aoling Monyu'. This festival is celebrated in the first seven days of the month of April.
The main source of income for the district's inhabitants is agriculture. Tea is the major crop that is grown in the state's plantations. There are quite a few tourist attractions in the Mon district. Some of the major attractions of the region are as follows:
