This is a town cum Municipal Corporation of the district of Alwar in the state of Rajasthan in India. However, it comes within the region of Delhi NCR. Thus, this place is considered to be a midway between the capital cities of Delhi and Jaipur.

Geographically based at 27? 53' N and 76? 17' E?, Behror is positioned at an average altitude of just 312 m from the level of the sea. Since the starting of 1990, this area has been known as one of the industrial regions of the Rajasthan state. It is because the famous Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Limited or R.I.I.C.O. is situated there. Apart from this, the region has got some of the other industries, which include pharmaceutical companies, cement producing plants, plywood companies and many more. In spite of being an industrial area, this place is even visited by many tourists from its neighborhood as well as different parts of the state and the country. People staying within the proximity of this town of Alwar often visit the place as a weekend getaway. Best Time to visit

The place is said to have got three distinct seasons of summer, monsoon and winter. The summer season in Behror roughly starts from the month of May and continues till June. The monsoon follows this season and stretches from August to September. The region experiences winter from the December month to the January month. Keeping in mind the climatic conditions of the place, this town of Rajasthan can be best visited during the period in between the months of October and March.

  • Hanuman Mandir- This temple is based at Rundh.

  • Neemrana Fort- This is an ancient fort cum palace of the town which has now been transformed into a luxury hotel.

  • Sariska Tiger Sanctuary- Located on the Delhi ? Jaipur Highway this is one of the most favoured places to visit in Behror. Apart from its tiger reserve project this place is known for being the home of different kinds of plant and animal species.

  • Tomb of Tarang Sultan- This tomb which dates back to the 14th Century is the tomb of Firuz Shah's brother. It is among the worth visiting tourist attractions of the place.

  • Vinay Vilas Mahal- Even called by the name of the ?City Palace? this palace dates back to the 18th Century and reflects the Mughal as well as Rajput architectural styles. The upper floor of this palace houses a museum whereas the ground floor is being used as district courts and other government offices.

Nearest Airport

Being a town, this place does not have any airport of its own. The Indira Gandhi International Airport, which is popularly called the Delhi Airport is the nearest airport to Behror. Situated at a distance of around 120 km from the heart of the town, this airport connects this Alwar town to most of the important cities of the nation as well as the world through airways.

Nearest Railway Station

The Alwar Railway Station that is based at an approximate distance of 50 km from the centre of this town is the nearby railway station to the place. Apart from connecting the area to the capital city of Delhi, this rail head links the region to different parts of the Republic of India.

Shopping

Behror, being a small sized township, is not a much famous shopping destination. However, since, most of the leisure trips remain incomplete without shopping, this place has even got some shops, which offers different kinds of handcrafted goods of the state of Rajasthan. Apart from portraying the rich and age old culture and tradition of the entire state, such items are quite common to be taken back home as a memoir or souvenir of one's travel to this west Indian town. These handicrafts include exquisite textiles, handmade jewelry, carpets, wood carvings, mojaris, ivory bangles, Rajasthani paintings, etc. Some of the famous shops are located at the local markets near the main bus stand as well as on the Alwar Road, Shahjahanpur and Kacheri Road.
