Dharmendra



Dharmendra Singh Deol, who is a well-known Bollywood star, became a Parliament member and won a seat from Bikaner through the general elections of 2004. Better known as Dharmendra, he is counted as one of the most famous people of Bikaner. Representing himself as a member of 14 the Lok Sabha of India Dharmendra is a political activist of Bharatiya Janata Party.

Dharmendra was born in the year 1935 in Punjab and he had a keen interest in Hindi films right from his initial days of childhood. The actual film career of Dharmendra, who was also known Dharam Singh Deol, in his previous days, begun in 1962. Dharmendra owes the credit of acting in more than 200 films till date.

In 2004 Dharmendra Singh Deol got a ticket from Bharatiya Janata Party to contest for a seat of the Parliament. After his glorious win in the election Dharmendra Singh Deol started taking interest in the welfare of Bikaner. The first major initiative that Dharmendra took was that, he wrote a letter to the Union Railway minister - Mr. Lalu Prashad Yadav - for launching a super fast train through the Delhi-Bikaner route.

The people of Bikaner are quite hopeful about their new MP - Dharmendra - who is leaving no stone unturned to enhance the economic, social and tourism prospects of the place. In fact, such is the popularity of Dharmendra in Bikaner that any controversy related to his private life is opposed with full strength by the local inhabitants of the place.

Today, Dharmendra Singh Deol has truly become a prime figure in Bikaner who is not only known for his heroic screen roles but also for his social concern.
